BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our anti-racist practices require constant examination of our board structure and the intentional centering of the wisdom, energy and leadership of trans femmes of color.

We have developed several policies and honed our programs to further uplift their leadership.

  • BOARD CHAIR (SHE/HER)

Susie McClannahan is a white, cisgender, queer woman. She has been a donor and supporter of Transformations since its launch in 2016 and joined the Board in fall 2022. Susie is originally from Kansas City and now lives in Washington, DC. She has over a decade of experience as a community organizer and advocate fighting for racial justice, queer and trans liberation, and feminism. She currently works at a civil rights organization that combats housing discrimination and volunteers with Showing Up for Racial Justice DC. In her free time, she is an avid cook, lazy kayaker, and aspiring gardener.

  • VICE CHAIR (SHE/HER)

As a founding board member of Transformations, it has always been Hailee’s focus and goal to help guide the organization for the creation of a paid Executive Director position that elevates a trans person of color. Hailee is the owner of City Gym in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as a writer and speaker. She also serves on the Core Council for The Center For Spiritual Living, Kansas City, is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Kansas City, and a senior rescue dog mom.

  • BOARD MEMBER (HE/HIM)

Chad is an Assistant Professor at the University of California San Diego School of Public Health. His research focuses on HIV prevention and social and structural factors like HIV stigma, racism, transphobia, homophobia, and economic inequities that drive HIV disparities in marginalized communities. Chad is committed to fighting injustices and inequities that put queer, trans, and BIPOC people in our society. As a board member, he hopes to do what he can to support the voices of trans leaders and help Transformations grow as a powerful organization in the region.
