About Our Events

DUE TO COVID_19, Transformations KC meets online thru Instagram. If you need immediate assistance, please DM us!

Every quarter, our advising team meets and prepares our program calendar with workshop ideas, curriculum content, guest speakers and themes that our youth will enjoy. We then present these topics and outline to our youth at a group meeting where we ask for active feedback. We make any necessary changes, get the youth approval and than finally create and post this public program calendar for our youth, their loved ones and our community support.

We have covered an array of topics, including addressing racial justice within TGNC communities, anti-blackness, top & bottom surgery, TGNC media literacy, hustling while trans, school rights and Title IX, body positive workshops focused on physical wellness (spin, boxing, voguing) suicide intervention and TGNC youth resiliency, embodying fierceness and learning how to werk ur walk, makeup/binding/becoming the divx you are, Scream Queen: LGBTQ youth halloween dance party, navigating the holidays with family and more!

We also work actively to support building community networks of TGNC people that develop leadership, resiliency and are committed to anti-oppression and social justice issues. We will share these community events or opportunities when able.

Workshops

We take pride in creating engaging curriculum, providing nutritious meals and hosting intentional workshops for our youth! At each group, we have created a common culture of language, respect and boundaries. We facilitate the beginning of group with our “ROPES” ground rules and close each group with a check-out using our “TRAFFIC LIGHT” activity.
